I'm talking about low stakes here since I'm sure as you go up it just won't work. But I was thinking about this last night.... Most of the low stakes PLO games even SH don't really seem typical of a "shorthanded" environment. It's not all that uncommon to have 5-6 players taking a flop.

So would playing tighter be a better strategy in an envoronment like that? In other words adhering more to the "play tighter in loose games, and loser in tight games" strategy? Even though you have more blind pressure in a 6 max game. Also it's generally fairly easy to get paid off fairly well in most situations.

You do have to loosen up at the 6 handed games somewhat, but not excessively. I generally will play the ugly stepsister type of hands (KQJ4 rainbow type) in a spot that I would throw away in a FR game. Starting hand selection is still very important in the game regardless of FR or SH.

Well I'm not necessiraly a "rock" per se... But maybe when it comes to 6 max standards. I have a VPIP that generally ranges between 26-28%. I tend to play connected cards with a dangler like you mentioned and usually suited A hands if I can get in cheap type thing.... Bu tI have people almost always running at 45% or better as far as VPIP goes at the tables I'm at.
