I made 1 big error and 1 marginal error in this hand. Which is the big error and which is the small one?

I think there are multiple lines on the flop and turn. Checking the flop is not a nightmare, neither is checking the turn, depending on a few different things.

Calling the river sucks a fatty. Two players behind too.

you hit your hand pretty hard on the flop, so if you are not going to be willing to bet it in EP, i would reconsider how i play it PF.

i would consider raising PF to get out some of the riff-raff... this gets the people out of the hand that might luck into a draw. it also gives the pot some teeth so that when you do hit, you can make drawing hands pay. also, you can bluff and semi-bluff with impunity as most calling hands will have missed, and they won't be able to put you on a hand.

i would be tempted to pop it on the flop, but your are basically forced to continue on the turn unless you are somehow able to buy the button.

since your were in the BB, i can understand wanting to showdown cheaply given the number of cards that are out that provide a potential hand that beats you. this is a decent low-variance way to play, but i think that there are other ways to solve the problem.

well, i wanted to check raise the flop to make the draws pay big but that isn't what I consider the biggest mistake.

Monk got it. Calling that river was absolutely terrible. Even if it folded to me and I was the only one left to call, what was I beating that would bet? The worst hand this guy is betting is a straight. With people behind me, terrible call.
