I got outplayed here -- better lines?

$50 PLO 6-max on UB. I have $100, opponent covers.

I get [Tc][9c][6h][5s] in the BB. Few limpers.

Flop (4 players, pot=$2): [8c][7c][3s], giving me the wrap and the small flush draw.

I lead for $2, opponent in MP makes it $8. Since I'm out of position I just call, exercising a bit of pot control.

Turn (2 players, pot=$18): [2c]. Now what? I bet $10, opponent calls.
River (2 players, pot=$38): [4h]. I bet $10 again, opponent minraises, I call.

Opponent shows nut flush.

I don't like how I played it. On the turn I wanted a cheap showdown, and I failed to get one. Anyone reraise the flop? I thought of that, but then I'd be in an awkward spot on the turn if it bricks. Anyone pots the turn instead?

I think the right way to go here most of the time is repotting the flop. You're ahead of 88 with nothing, and I'd repot that one.

The way you played it (and I play it that way probably too often), I pot the turn. As I see it he's repping a set on the flop (even though he has only the flush draw in this case), and that gives too many outs to allow a cheap boating card. The only time I can think of that I half-pot the turn is if I have (or am trying to rep) a full myself. With the full, typically your opponent either has you beat or has essentially no outs, so I don't see half-pot as a problem in that case.

Also on the river, I'd seriously consider a check OOP. He has to have some flush to call any bet imo, and, if he has a flush, it's fairly likely to be the nuts in this case. Basically, by the river, I put him on one of two hands with this betting sequence: A set trying to catch up on the river or a nut flush (the only one he could possibly raise with on the flop, I think). If he has a set, he clearly lays down to a bet but might bet to a check.

I may be checking my rivers too often at the moment, but it seems to me like betting them is really only good when you have decent chances of getting a caller with an inferior hand.

I guess my overall opinion: While I play the flop as you do more often than not, I think putting it in right then is actually a better play. On the turn, I don't like half pot, and on the river, I prefer a check-call to a bet.

I can't put it in on the flop, the stacks are too deep for that. I can make it $24 to go, leaving me with a big pot OOP with a lot of money left.

Suppose I would have repotted the flop and he flat calls. Then what do you do when a club hits the turn? When it bricks? When the board pairs?
