Is it ok if I join the forum? I am a total newbie at Omaha. Please be nice to me.
One thing that always kept me far away from Omaha was confusion. Look at all those cards in your hand. How can you figure all those out and know which is a good starting hand?
I read through the Omaha chapter in SS2 last night for the first time, and it suggests that one way of thinking about Omaha starting hands is as 6 different hold 'em hands. If you like most of your hold em hands, then you'll like your Omaha hand. Is that a good way of thinking? Or ... how do you guys think about it?
If you have AA72 with no suitedness, then you have one outstanding hand and a bunch of crap. So it's a lot less good than most people think. Is that right?
Thanks.
