opponent seems to be decent, nothing great, nothing real bad. I obviously fold to a raise but do you keep firing?

but what if he makes a pot bet after i check. he could be bluffing or trying to make it seem like he's bluffing.

I'm a newbie so use w/ caution, but I like the blocking bet. If he has the nuts then he's gonna raise and you should have an easy fold. If he has two pair then he has to make a crying call and loses.

Usually my MO is to check on the river as an alternative to making blocking bets in PLO. I am happy to try to snap off bluffs against most players; whereas the blocking bet will force him to fold a busted draw, he might just bet it when you check the river. I reckon your EV is better from calling a $21 bet/bluff than it is from simply preventing him bluffing by putting the $10 out there against MOST players. But that's just my opinion and there are good arguments for both lines.

All I can say is I've had a lot of success playing a nut hand out of position this way. There are a couple of requirements:
1) There must be a couple of draws possible, of which only one has made (i.e. you have top set on a str8/flush draw board, the str8 draw hits on the river so it's possible your opponent might have a busted flush draw).
2) Your opponent is not totally passive, and is ideally quite aggressive, i.e. will often bet a busted draw if you show weakness.

After a while you get quite adept at spotting places to make good "value checks" OOP to facilitate a bluff from your quarry. This hand isn't QUITE ideal simply because it's very easy for him to have actually MADE the hand you're wanting him to bluff-represent (a straight with the T).
