low set against agressive players

Postby euri10 » Sat May 14, 2005 10:20 am

Am I a calling station here ?
My two opponents are playing quite agressively (it reminds me me  )
I've seen both of them pushing hard on flush draw, so I suspect one of them has spades... In the last 30 hands FUJI222 lost 3 times his stack.
My str8 draw is not that bad I think, but when I saw them checking the river, it was hard to check also.. do u think I should have ?

a few hands later against the same guy...I'm not found of betting hard top 2 pairs but should I play it differently against such a low stack and maybe folding when the flush appears..?

Hand 1 I think a river bet is fine really. Looks like he might've had a collosal draw that missed. Other than that, it's a tough hand really. Hard to know without knowing the opponent whether bottom set might be good, although broadly we'd have to say probably not, generally, when someone re-raises that flop... However, that straight draw is kind of tempting... I must admit, rather often I think I would lay this down on the flop (that or re-raise it all in, against a few LAG opponents), but I don't think calling is two bad, assuming 7 outs.

Hand 2 I'm not wildly keen on raising what is basically only a reasonably good hand out of position preflop. Your wrap has a gap and the flush feature is very mediocre, so I usually just limp that, although if you play an aggressive game it's not a terrible hand to be raising, I suppose. Not my idea of a raising hand though.

On the flop it's an easy all in. You're marginal favourite.
