Yes, I like your thinking and play most of the way. I'd definitely bet that river too, although obviously AQ, A9 A8 are possible but you're calling a bet anyways so you might as well make it and get paid off by a slow-played-to-death straight or 99/88. When he calls the flop I'm worried about JT as some folks will "wait for the safe turn" but I think you have little option but to bet it, really.
The only thing I perhaps do differently is check the flop, which changes how this one plays out quite a lot. I think you could go either way on that one, though.
