I have found it extremely easy to get ITM for the $10 SnGs but I have been having trouble getting 1st's and 2nd's.
Here are my results so far.
1st: 2 (in both of these I got big stacked and bullied everyone around)
2nd: 0
3rd: 4
4th-6th: 2
7th-10th: 1
While I realize these numbers are not representative I think they show something that I have felt; I have no idea how to play SH LO8.
The usually scenario is I get 3 way against a calling station and a LAG both of which have larger stacks then I do. Then I pick up a few good hands, good low + top pair, or top 2 but I always end up splitting the pots against some garbage in the other direction. Then I go card dead and get blinded down until I have to make some desperation move, and when I do I can’t seems to push moron off TPNK and I miss my low draw.
I have played a bunch of NLHE SnGs and the way I was successful in them was by stealing lots of pots. I have played a lot of SH PLO8 cash games and the way that I was successful was by being hyper aggressive to steal small pots and only get involved in large pots with good 2 way hands.
These players don’t fold anything so I really don’t see stealing as an option like it was in NLHE SnGs, since the blinds are increasing I can’t patient like I was in SH PLO8, and I am not making enough 2 ways hands to beat them with the cards I am dealt. I basically feel like I am in a game of chicken and because I know I can’t push them off anything I am always flinching first.
Any suggestions? Any general strategies you guys employ when you are SHed against players who can’t fold?
