probably should have bet the turn too but since i didn't, do you try on the river? If you bet the turn and get called, do you bluff the river?

I think you should bet the river even having checked the turn. Even if he puts you on a bluff it's hard to see too many hands he'd play in this way that can call you down (again, unless he's a real station).
