Taking Risks Part 3 - Firing another bullet

Postby briachek » Sat Sep 03, 2005 1:51 pm

I used to be one of the most weak/tight person on the omaha tables but that has changed. Sometimes you just have to fire another bullet on the turn when a card is not ideal. People will raise you if they beat you and fold it you don't so if this play often works, you win the pot and you still have outs if they make it cheap.

Thoughts?

Hand 1 is not a big pot and surely you have to fire another one. He could easily have been hanging in with two pair, an overpair, or some sort of draw that the 4 doesn't complete such as 46 for a straight draw or a flush draw of some sort. Statistically, if he's on a draw, there's probably less than a 50% chance the 4 has completed it so I don't see how you can check. That would be very weak.

Hand 2 you have some VERY big blockers to that card - with two Ts in your hand, it becomes increasingly unlikely that someone has the 9TJ required to call the flop and beat you so, bet again by all means.
