This is an interesting thing to see. Most authors and posters here claim that position is king in PLO. Personally I don't think it is that important, at least at full ring and lower stakes (up to 100PLO or so, maybe higher) but I'm sure I'll get shot down by almost everyone for this blasphemy. Of course the position that IS important is the one in relation to specific players depending on their style and stack, but as long as I'm happy with that position I usually don't care that much if I'm UTG+1 or BTN in an actual hand.

Kind of depends on stack sizes and *when* he's aggressive. With short effective stacks I prefer maniac on my left so I can CRAI when I hit, with big stacks I like him on my right especially if he is aggressive preflop so I can isolate him.

Regarding the original topic, I too was surprised when I read that in the book and I don't agree with it at all, I also remember him contradicting himself later. Certain hands play almost as well OOP, mainly sets, but drawing hands do much better in position obviously. Which is why I don't mind raising KKJJ utg but wouldn't raise A789s.
