With such a loose table (and it has to be loose with that many calling that much of a raise...), I suspect you are in limbo right now. While 5-8 and 3-5 are not likely cards to be held in good Omaha High hands - you have to be aware that there are four others in the hand with you. By chance - you could be up against the made straight here - and then you're in trouble (kind of).

You are out of position and have the table covered, though not by much for some people. Luckily - the bigger stacks folded preflop. In this case, you've got 2 people who have about 1/3 pot stacks, 1 at 1/2 pot and one who covers the pot, but not by much. In other words, by betting pot - anyone who isn't all-in is pot committed.

However, you are still technically drawing. What are you drawing to?

a) any club other than the 6c (8 outs)
b) any non-club 8 (3 outs) - this gives you a non-nut straight - but it might be the best
c) any ace (2 outs) - top set - if the straight is out - this is a tough hand to drop though
d) running diamonds (~1-2 outs) - backdoor flushes can often earn you quite a bit, and they do have equity.

In my opinion, you have two courses of action here:

1. You could bet the pot - this has value since you might pick up the pot here, but also should knock out people whom you don't want in the pot (people who could draw to the 9-T straight if your 8 hits for instance).

2. You could check-call - hiding the power of your draw and see if you hit on the turn. If there's excessive betting by the time it gets back to you, you can probably safely call with the number of outs you have - but remember you are not guaranteed a win in this pot.

I lean towards betting the pot. Only one player (the poster) can cover this bet and still have money and he just sat at the table (so in my opinion will be less likely to play for his stack).

In my opinion, I would bet the pot since, as starstealer stated, you have many outs and and not up against the big stacks so your losses are minimal but with so many people in, your win could be pretty big. You might as well force out any bad draws for your hand while probably getting people with other flush draws or overpairs to call. If someone flopped the straight, you still have outs and if is one of the people with a low stack, you could still win some money from the side pot.

IMO, this is one of the best flops you could really have gotten without flopping a made hand (set, boat or (non-nut) straight)

i'm quite happy to see that answers as I really was not sure that it will be the case

here's what happened, even if it's not very important in the decision process, I had been able to put good notes on my opponents

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

Button ($61.50)
SB ($104.60)
Hero ($112.20)
UTG ($32.35)
UTG+1 ($50)
MP1 ($20)
MP2 ($20.25)
CO ($39.80)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [5c], [Ac], [9d], [Ad]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG raises to $1, UTG+1 (poster) calls $0.50, MP1 calls $1, MP2 calls $1, CO calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $7.25, UTG calls $6.25, UTG+1 calls $6.25, MP1 calls $6.25, MP2 calls $6.25, CO folds.

Flop: ($37.50) [7c], [6d], [4c] (5 players)
Hero bets $35.65, UTG calls $25.10 (All-In), UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls $12.75 (All-In), MP2 folds.

Turn: ($111) [Jc] (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($111) [9c] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $111

Results in white below:
Hero has 5c Ac 9d Ad (flush, ace high).
UTG has Jh Ts 6h 7h (two pair, jacks and sevens).
MP1 has Qc 5h Td Tc (flush, queen high).
Outcome: Hero wins $111.
