jut1045 balance $10.95, lost $13.70 [ Js Ks 5h Ah ] [ a straight, ten to ace -- As,Ks,Qc,Js,Th ]

My turn bet was more a probe bet and I was planning on folding to a significant raise but he decided to slowplay. Not a terrible move since he had the nuts with a redraw but if he thought I had the same straight, push while he has plenty of outs. If he thought I had a set, why pay off the river? If you slowplay, you have to seriously consider folding if the board pairs but since I can trap more people just by pushing when they have set or just the straight, just push the turn.

i completely agree.

almost the only time i slowplay a flush is when i am in early position with an aggressive player yet to act... i will sometimes check hoping for a chance to CR. i'm not so worried about losing a $1 pot. str8s, on the other hand, ram and jam. it's amazing how often i get callers.

well if you are gonna slowplay, you have to be willing to fold too. Playing a nut flush like this is just really bad. Raise up the flop or be willing to fold the turn, even if you think you might be bluffed out.
