Anyone play 2-7 or A-5 triple draw?

I play a bit on UB; have won money on the little limits but I'm no expert.

I think TUP has played a bit of triple draw in his time. Most of the big money pros (Hellmuth, Chan, Negreanu) love it because it's a real action game.

Yeah the swings are very big on this game. Still trying ot get a handle on when to stay pat, when to draw and why. Daniels' section in ss2 is awesome, and i'm reading it for a second time. I tend to like the under played games more then the popular ones. Bluffing (snowing) seems like it can play a large factor in this game. As i play more i'll post hands here and see if anyone has any input. I've also begun playing razz, which i first saw on wsop and was like what the f? i never thought i'd like it, but damn its fun, albeit a little crazy.

I like A-5 triple draw. I never played 2-7... I don't think I understand it. Someone somewhere said something like, "I went all in with a 23456 and, obviously, lost."

What? Why isn't that the best hand?

i think straights and flushes actually count against you so he had a 6 high straight, not a 6 low.

Yep. 23457 is the wheel in 2-7.

Maybe we should all crash one of UB's 2-7 tables sometime.

Ah, that was my guess. So is 2-6 played like A-5? with no straights/flushes?

Yes, but it's not really played anywhere as it is the same game as A-5 with no exceptions, just the value of the A is top in one and bottom in the other. 2-7 is generally played a bit more than A-5 live as it's a bit more complex and offers a few more opportunities for skillful players to beat weaker ones, I guess.

Deuce-to-seven triple draw is my favorite game and I occasionally get to play it on GamesGrid. I'm by no means any sort of expert, and I wouldn't yet make it my career, but it's the most fun game in my opinion. I expect if any one game other than hold'em would be the game of the future, that is it. (Certainly not Omaha, which has been the "game of the future" for decades. Omaha's the game of the future of the past.)
