Had INSANE beats, just cou'nt get aything going.

Then, came MY day. I started out with NOTHING, having already borrowed a LOT.

But, wait I had 800 Fpp's on pokerstars. Ok, 500 fpp buy in Satilitte to 350k gaurantee.

Played damnnnnn good, and actually got lucky ONE time. Well, ok, so i had a 40 percent change to outdraw.

Anyway, I ended up winning a seat. Go to tournament board, and it says "unregister"

OH GOOOOOOOOOD!! they aren't making me play the big one. Not very prudent.

Ok, so I had 215 in tournament entry chips, so I played a few heads up events, and soon found myself with 300 SMACKERS, plus 110 left in TEC's

Enter 50 PLO8, and inspite HOPELESS odds, I got SECOND.

Now have Rightous bucks again, and started to repay my creditors.

I know this is a forum where you teach us, poor people, a good and proper way to behave in our poker life, and not also in poker but in life in general, simply, because poker is life, isn't it ?

Si les homme Francaise, knew anything about poker, they would not deal hold em, by putting one card out at a time. I HATE THIS.

Also, they would not deal the game, by having the dealer, "scoot" the cards off the deck, instead of the PROPER "pitching"

I'm just stirring up trouble. Anyone dissagreeing with ATE, is subject to a nasty responce. I cannot imagine anyone buying a shirt, when they could play a tournament, or even TWO with the money.


I guess I should not have started an "anti-French" thing, since I certainly do not feel that way, EXCEPT for the way they deal poker.


Whenever I see someone do something WRONG, that I'm an expert in, yet can no longer do (such as be a waiter in French Restaurants, or deal poker) It makes me mad.

The jacket is not even a nice jacket, trust me - your better off at a tourney. People will look at the jacket and think its lame ... at least at a tourney, you get to do what you like best right? (okay well, its what i like best - ah, the life of a degenerate.

Dont get me wrong, ive had a slight burn on for ATE ever since i read his opinion on short handed holdem...I think ATE's desire to play a 20 handed holdem game means that he's hopelessly weak tight. But hey, he can still win at omaha right? I mean omahas pretty easy. I got top set and shove it all in against a big wrap with a nut flush draw, and a coin flips somehwere up in poker valhalla and the chips get pushed to wherever. Ooooo. fun. I think id rather jam Q6s into the blinds of players like ATE. Heehee. Who said something bout stirring up trouble?

Haha. I'm not sure if it's that he's weak tight, but he tends to play way way way above his bankroll, so he likes as little variance as possible

Tricky player huh? Laying down AQo to a mid position raise is not a tricky play, FYI. And also, omaha is not a game for tricky players. Its a game of discipline for the most part. And i mights well also say that a love for micro blinds is the hallmark of a nut peddler.

I niether affirmed nor denied your claim about the modern structure of holdem. Ive only been playing for 5 or 6 years so i wouldnt know how it used to be. What i CAN say is that Short handed holdem is a completely different game - its alsmost as different from full ring as limit is from no limit - and can be very profitable, not just for the casinos.

I just find it amusing that the resident self-anointed 'expert' doesn't have the stomach for it and so rather than just saying he just doesnt like it much and that it doesnt suit his style (as I would say about no limit), he comes up with some pseudo-'objective' reason why the game is inherently flawed - which it isnt. As a matter of fact, your concern about the rake is not even especially valid for two reasons.
(1) The rake goes down when there are less players and
(2) The rake becomes negligible at any respectable limit [20/40 and higher]

In fact, poker at the highest levels is always played short, simply because there usually arent 9 or 10 people in most cardrooms at any given time willing to play 500/1000 or 1000/2000. So go tell Doyle, Phil, Ted and Johnny that they ought not be playing in the games they play in because they are perpetuating the evils of modern style holdem, and playing in games which are inherently flawed.
