Even though I assume this advice applies primaily to limit, I exclusively play NL and Pot Limit and have had problems overplaying AK, and found this post excellent food for thought. A couple of queries:
How far does would you say this advice applies to No Limit, either ring games or tournaments?
For example, would you say you should continue to bet your top pair top kicker unless raised in No Limit as well, or would you say that so much in NL is dependent on your read of the player that this advice doesn't really apply?
Would you also not advocate raising a three handed pot with an unimproved AK on the flop in No Limit? If I raised preflop to 4 BBs with AK, and, as you suggest, I have been doing this less of late, get two callers and it is checked to me on an unimproved flop, I will almost always put out a pot sized bet, depending on the players. If I am called and still hit nothing on the turn I will tend to check and fold. Do you agree with that logic?
