Bet plus FOUR raise places, a good thing for the good player

Hi everyone! Are you enjoying the great site, as much as I am? I hope so, because it's my intention to make it the exclusive site, of any new ATE material. Anyway, what I'd like to discuss with you now, is the concept of clubs that offer four raises, instead of the customary three. If you have the choice of clubs to play, focus on the one's that offer the extra raise.

Now, this makes the game better, for partnership playing. But, that really doesn't exists much anymore, except for a few giant games. And of course people who talk on the phone, on internet games. But, you really should not concern yourself about that. Partenership play, is rather much a "boogeyman" thing. Everyone fears it, but it hardly exists at all. For every 100 occurances where someone THINKS someone's playing partners (but was just a bad and/or action player) there might be ONE where they actually were doing it.

And, as Mike Caro said: most are NOT good at it.

Anyway, enough of that. Remember, that in the smaller (4-8 and lower) games, the effect of the house rake is MUCH greater. So, you need to seek out games, where the rake is easier to fade. With an extra raise (and players willing to gambel) the pots get MUCH bigger, and yet the rake is the same.

Also, you have a chance to get more accurate information, and can get away with some hands cheaper.

Example: you are holding KK, and raise. An very tight player reraises. You make it four bets. In a game with three raises, this is the end of it. But with the extra raise, the AA hand five bets, and now you can be certain (against the totally predictable players) that the KK hand is no good, and not pay off if you don't flop a set.

Now, the above example WON'T come up very often, so that's not the main reason for choosing Bet+4 places. If you are playing correctly, you are not in there, without an appropriate hand/or draw. So you should not be afraid of the extra action. But, the "balloon" players, will be in there, when they shouldn't. So, might as well get the extra action.

Man, do the POTS GET HUGE, in Bet+4 houses. Remember, it's an exponential effect, beyond merely the extra raise. The bigger the pot, the more stay in. Yes, there will be more drawouts because of this, but the extra money you win where you take the pot, will more than make up for this.

I don't have a complete listing of bet+4 places, but here are some

Artichoke Joe's, San Bruno California (2-4 hold em pots, often get to $200!!!)

Bellagio, Las Vegas Nevada (Omaha players, love to make it five bets here)

There are many more in Nevada, it's the bet+4 capital of the nation

Canterbury Casino, Shakopee Minnesota

Try bet +4, if you're a solid player, you'll love it.
