Anyone who can play 6 or more tables on OnGame with PT and PaHud running, what are your system specs? Do you have to have a dual processor?

I have a pretty cheap desktop, Celeron 3.5 ghz processor. I usually play on my laptop but I just got a new 20'' monitor so I've moved over to the desktop. I tried playing 6 tables and got a ton of lag, with cpu usage at 100%. So like a donk I went out and bought another gig of RAM, not realizing that my problem was with CPU usage, not memory.

The lag is bearable with 6 tables but I doubt my computer could handle any more. Is there a solution besides "buy a new computer"?

Fear my super secret pc specs!

I was running 6 tables + pt + pahud, in order to get a 7th I had to close PT and PAHUD. I also had to be careful because when you are wait listed and a new table pops up when you are already running a bunch havoc breaks loose stuff disappears profanities are said etc.

My pc is a little on the older side:

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO
1 GB RAM

So yea nothing special, seeing that your processor eats mine for breakfast I don't understand why you are rolling so slow. I must just be able to tolerate the slowdown more or something, lol.

Thanks BlackKnight and Moose. Time for a new desktop I guess. Playing 6 tables the lag actually isn't that bad. I downloaded a little program called "Process Tamer" that (I think) is helping a little.

I encountered the 2nd monitor glitch last month and I gave up trying to make it work. With the 20'', I can very comfortably fit 6 tables and I think 8 wouldn't even be that bad. There's overlap, sure, but I don't mind it and it actually makes it a little easier to play with the gamepad.
