I Just converted my data bases to PostgreSQL and I dont see much difference in performance. Am I missing something.

You can run a SQL query and output the results to a .csv file, from where you can open the data in Excel.
Those who are doubting the upgrade ('cos that's what it is) to SQL should consider the situation when their Access db hits the size limit.
