Database problems

Postby Rhound50 » Tue May 03, 2005 6:33 pm

I am having some issues with my pt database, my new database is now over 100k in hands and since it has been running almost no stop, I forgot to comapct it. Now when I try to compact it, it gives me an error saying. Can't compact database? Anyone have any ideas?? Or had this happen to them? I e-mailed PT support but all they did was send me a link to how to repair a database.

Well, PT uses MsAccess as a back end I believe - and if it gets to a certain size without being compacted it becomes virtually useless. Having dealt with this issue elsewhere - there's very little you can do unless you are able to slowly move the data to another db and compact that as you go.
