Game is 3/6 hold'em, Blinds 1/2, so limping here is just $2, preflop raise is to five. As you can imagine, most tables have and avg. of 7 people seeing the flop. They open up a new table for me, my buddy, and the other people on the long list. Unfortunately, I am sitting with all the weak tight players and no one is seeing the flop! So, on one hand where a few people limped in, I though I would make an image and make sure people called me in the future.
Hand #1: In the cutoff with [2c], EP limps, MP limps, LP limps, I limp, SB completes, BB checks.
Flop comes [9h][2d]. Checks around to LP player to my immediate right (older gentleman who plays pretty solid hands, but isn't very aggres.) who bets. I raise. Folds to MP player(kid who would call with any draw) who cold calls, and LP calls.
Turn is . Hmm, there goes that backdoor flush draw. MP and LP check to me, and I bet. I figure if I check here LP will bet the river and I will have to call that, so bet here, check the river, and show my hand. MP calls, LP calls.
River is . VICTORY IS MINE! Both players check, I bet, MP folds, LP calls. I flip over my [2c] and he looks kinda ill. I saw him muck his KQ...and I got really strange looks from everyone except my friend, two to my right who was just laughing it up. Feel free to rip me apart on this one if you want, criticize away. This hand did help my make money on future hands I believe.
Hand #2: [7d] on the button. Four limpers call, I call, SB completes, BB checks.
Flop is [8c][8s]. Top pair, no kicker...could get in trouble here. Checks to MP Kid(same as last hand) who bets. I don't think he would bet the flop w/ trips, in fact I am almost sure he would slowplay in that spot espe. w/ me acting next. I call, BB calls(calling station w/ draws), everyone else folds.
Turn is . BB checks, MP bets again. I figure my draw is live and I will have to call another river bet anyway to see what he has or he might be on the club draw, so I raise here to drive out the BB and so he will check to me on the river and I can see a free showdown. BB folds, MP calls.
River is . Bingo again! MP checks, I bet, he calls. I flip over my straight, and he mucks. I think he had an overpair judging by his reaction to my hand there. I put him on that now because of the next hand...
Hand #3: I'm in the SB with [5s]. Five limpers to me this time, and I complete. BB checks.
Flop is [7s][7h]. I like this game. I bet out in the SB b/c of my image and I am pretty sure no one will think I have a 7 here. UTG calls, MP(old man from earlier who moved away from me for some reason) calls, LP(kid from other hands) calls.
Turn is . I bet out again, UTG folds, old man calls, kid calls.
River is . I check. I think the old man has an overpair, and I have no idea what the kid has, but I want them to bet out here, so I can get an extra bet. I think someone with a seven would of raised by now, probably. Old man bets, kid calls? I don't know if he has the seven w/ a decent kicker, so I just decide to call here. Should I have raised??? Old man flips over KK , kid flips over QQ !!! I show my 75 and take down the pot. I have never seen a table as weak as this one...unfortunately, it didn't make for big pots. But, I think my image helped there somewhat, although I think each of them had decided to go ahead and slowplay those hands to get my action...or they just are horrible...I'm leaning toward the latter.
Hand #4: Different table. In the SB w/ [5c]. UTG limps, UTG+1 raises, two MP players call, LP calls, I call, BB folds, UTG calls. 6 to the flop.
Flop is [Tc][9c]. I like it. I decide to check. UTG+1 has always bet out, and I have also seen him bet a river w/ JT w/ a board of QQ224. UTG check, UTG+1 bets, MP+1 calls, MP+2 calls, LP calls, I raise. UTG+1 calls, MP+1 folds, MP+2 calls, LP folds.
Turn is . I bet out again. UTG+1 folds, MP+2 folds. I take it down. I showed my hand after than, and it got me alot of action...
Hand #5: In BB w/ [5d]. UTG limps in, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 raises(same raiser as last hand), MP calls, LP calls, SB folds, I call, UTG calls. 5 players to a flop.
Flop is [3d][5s]. Not exactly a great flop. I check, UTG bets. I can't really put him on a hand because I know he bets his good hands, but what did he limp in w/ here? I think maybe an overpair and is betting it, I doubt two pair. UTG+2 calls, MP calls, LP calls, I call. I figure if I hit a Q or 5 I am good + backdoor flush draw.
Turn is . I check, UTG bets, UTG + 2 calls, MP fold, LP fold, I call.
River is . Good card! I bet, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls. I show my queen high flush, and UTG shows 33 for the flopped set...oops, I screwed up on that one. I am surprised someone else at the table actually bet out on their sets...especially into UTG+2...he will bet out every time it is checked to him...how bad did I play that one?
What do you guys think? I should probably just be happy I made money the way I played there! Almost every pot I won I showed crap cards, mainly because I didn't get any...although I did fold probably 70% of the time. Any comments on my play?
