A couple of questions regarding this discussion of small to medium pairs occurred to me while playing today. Does the "10 x amount of raise in my stack and raiser's stack in order to call raise with small to medium pair" guideline apply whether it's a cold call or whether I previously limped? How much does position play into this decision? If the raise is large...Say, 10 or more x BB, suggesting opponent has AA, KK, AK, QQ, etc., but the 10 x amount of raise guideline is covered by you and your opponent, do you still call with something like 88 and then just get out if you don't flop a set? Also, what about other limping hands such as KJo...Is there a similar calling guidleine for these types of hands where you're not hoping for a set but rather a straight or, at least, a decent pair / kicker combo or maybe two pair?

I thought I had lost this hand...The converter doesn't show it, but the opponent had A9o. I know that I played this hand badly...When he called me on the flop, I thought he had me beat with two pair or something...I just didn't what to do past that point. Should I have pushed on the flop?
