in plo8, i seem to make a lot off of the short stacks, so i'm not sure what to say.
in plo8, a lot of times they're open pushing on the flop with a draw... often times just to the low half of the pot. other draws are to any flush, oesds, etc. the also do this with top pr or any 2pr. as such, i really think the only thing you can do is loosen up your calling requirements. this really sucks if other people are in the pot, but there's not much you can do. anyway, i realize that this is a lot easier in plo8 as compared to plo, so i'm not sure exactly how you should loosen up (fqiq, i like TP plus any flush draw)
another way you can use this technique to your advatage is to use the SS's aggressiveness to put a squeeze on other players in the hand. for example, let's say you're in EP, SS is to your left, and there are two other players in LP. when you hit your hand on the flop (e.g., a set) you can check to the SS, let him bet, get a call or two, and then jam it when it comes back to you. that's always sweet.
anyway, i agree that i despise these people the most when they pull a hit-and-run.
