Welcome to the forum Gergery!
Maybe it's just me, and I might be on some kind of heater, but it really seems like a large percentage of the losing players from the $25 level are all of a sudden playing at the $100 level. Not that I have notes or PTO data that says that, but just based on the level of play that I've seen the last couple of weeks.
Or maybe everyone that got a tax refund has decided to "try that online poker thing".
Either way, I grabbed another $167 in 202 hands last night, a large part of that due to 2 hands:
First hand, maybe the 2nd orbit around for me, stack still around $100 I get A2xx in LP. I don't remember the xx and it doesn't matter. 4 see the flop, which came 45x with 2 suited. IIRC, I had x in my hand as well, and potted when it got checked around to me. 3 callers. Turn brought no flush, but another low card. Check, check, pot by me, call, call. I figure I'm looking at a flush draw and another A2 and will proceed with caution on the river.
River is an offsuit 3. Check, check again. Well, screw it, I'll pot and maybe someone will think I'm stealing. I pot. Both guys call (?).
I scoop, neither one had A2. I mean, WTF? Folks like chasing the flush draw, ok, fine, but I can't figure that out at all. I wish I remember what they had, but IIRC it was like a 2 pair and A6 or something.
Later on I'm sitting on A278 in MP when a flop comes 56x rainbow. I have about a $200 stack or so, as does villain in LP. I pot, he calls. Turn is a 4, putting 2 to a suit out. He checks, I pot. I might not normally pot here, but villain has a vpip of 50% and I have notes on how bad a calling station he is when he has a low. He checkraises me the pot back. Now this is getting kinda interesting.
I didn't think too long on this one (of course), but figured that only a suited A or 2 will cost me the pot, and I'd have to put him on at least one of those, so he's prolly looking for a 1 outer to scoop (maybe). If he has xx78 then I am golden, barring any A or 2. If he has A2 with the flush draw and catches it then I'll be getting 1/4, but that's a chance I'll gladly take with one card to come. I push all in over the top, he calls.
River is a blank and I get 3/4 of a big-assed pot. He did have A2 and the flush draw, but no high and zero counterfeit protection. I think his play sucked balls personally, but would be curious about other thoughts on it.
