QUADS over BOAT (twice)

Postby monkalo » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:37 am

so i was playing in my usual 2/5 NL game last night and the first hand i saw when i sat down was a guy (Player A) that rivered quads over someone that had turned the boat(Player B) - and Player B said after calling all in "you've got the quads, right?" - indeed he did. I later found out that Player A was a crazy-stupid player who i saw call all the way to the river (for a couple hundred dollars) with nothing but because he "had 2 cards and he still gets to see the river" on which he hit his 3-outer.

so i folded for the first half hour untill i this hand came along
Player A i just described [$1000]
me [$300]
Player B is a tricky player that usually wins[$200]
Player C is a pretty solid tight player[$400]

Player A limps, i limp, followed by B and C (blinds come too but dont matter)
flop: ($30) [Qd][9d][Qh] A checks, i check, B bets $30, C calls, blinds fold, A calls, i call
turn: ($150) [Qd][9d][Qh] [Kd] A checks, I check, B bets about $100, C calls, A raises $100, and i push all in (bout 70 more), B calls (all in), C pushes all in (100 more on top), and A calls.
river: (brick - i cant remember what it was but it didnt matter for anyone)

i show [9c][9h], player B mucks, C shows [Jd][7d], and player A talks for the next few minutes and wont show his cards. what a complete ass. He finally shows [Qs][Qc] and takes down a pot of about $1300. i wanted to reload and move on but i know there was no way i was playing after this hand - i'm still steaming. so i just stood up, grabbed my coat, and left, physically unable to talk for the next hour. guy hit quads twice in 30 mins and both times all of the loser's chips were goin in the middle without question - God, i hate poker

First of all, thats called slowrolling and he would get knocked out cold if he did that in a back room game.

Secondly, Player C is NOT a solid tight player.

I feel your pain, but I wouldve been very worried about KQ if I was in your seat.

yeah, I wouldn't have been able to play after that either and player A woulc have to get surgery to remove my size 11 sneaker out of his ass for slowrolling quads like that.

This hurts and their is not much you can do about it. Good play to get up after this one, even when every ounce stregnth in you wants to stay so you can take back your money from this a$$hole.
