I agree with rhounds logic. If you made a set or top 2 you would have raised and I don't see you raising pre-flop with K6 so I think means you have AQ. I was going to say AJ for him but since that is already taken I am going with A10.

I think in retrospect, we both played the hand horribly.
Why in the world is he check raising me the minimum on the flop? And why in the heck am I calling down hoping that I had the best hand?

I was close when I guessed AQ for you and A7 for him. I do agree though that both of you played it pretty badly. You already knew that though.

If this was limit his play would be fine. However, since this is NL it will get expensive quickly if he's calling people down with just TPTK. When his opponent checkraises the flop he's probably beat. But in a lot of spots I would call that raise hoping that villian was taking a stab and will give up after the flop. When villian leads into the pot again on the turn, he's got to realize that he's almost certainly beat - checkraise followed by a bet is almost always a sign of a very good hand - and it's hard to see what AQ is beating at that point. If he had a read on villian where he overplays his hands I might call down, but there was no read and thus you can't put that money in with TPTK just hoping that villian is an idiot. I think raising the turn is out of the question, but very often you are gonna be running into better hands when you play TPTK so loose-passive.

With a read on a player as over-aggressive or as overplaying his low aces, I'd have a hard time folding this. But with no read like that, I completely agree with MG. Most players don't checkraise and then bet again without a real hand.

Here's an example where I had a correct read and got very lucky to win one like this. My opponent was way too aggressive on a pretty regular basis. He had about 60% of a buy-in at the start of the hand. I get TT and raise preflop, he is the only caller. Flop is J95. He checks, I bet, he check-raises the minimum, and I have to call because of how I've seen him play before. He bets the turn & is all-in for his last little bit on the river. And he's playing A9, so I take it down. Not a great play on my part, but against this guy I just could not give him credit for a real hand,
