Maybe I have a little to much gamble in me sometimes but I have always thought that unless you were a pro with no other form of income 20x was more than you really need. When I play live I play 5/5 with a $500 max, my current BR is not $10,000 it is more like $5000 actually a couple bucks under. The difference is that if I have a bad run and lose 4 or 5 buy ins. I drop back down to 1/3 $200 max and get my BR back up before I continue with the 5/5 game.

I went back to SnG's for a few months- it wasn't til GT+ came out that I came back to ring...
Anyway that's why I have 40x full buy-in (or 80 of my half buy-ins) nowadays - I learnt the benefits of conservative bankroll management early on..
