But it was only yesterday you told Ex you'd played with him in the past.

I said I had sweated him before. If I had played with him, he would have not only remembered it, but he wouldn't have gone 15/16.

Well it wasn't until my hubris made me crash from +$1200 in the first three hours to $-300 for the week (at the tables ignoring bonus) that I took a deep breath and went back to basics.

Just because someone is lagging it up does not mean it's wise to start thinking
'I'm a better player than them so I'll peel one off to their raise OOP with KJs and see what happens.' I'll save you guys the time and the money of trying this - unless you are running incredibly well what happens is that you get nailed

I had thrown my hand chart away and noticed that almost all the big losses (at least all those where I got my money in with the worst of it) were hands I shouldn't even have been in. As I dug a hole I started played more hands to compensate of course..

So I battened down the hatches, got out the hand chart, and took myself off to Crypto for 2x£25 5hr bonuses on the $50c/$1 tables. About 3 hours of solid play later I had put my week back into profit (ignoring bonuses). What was great was how much more respect you get and how much easier it is to play at 20% Vp$iP and folding the blinds much of the time than trying to play speculatively at 30% Vp$iP.

I regard that as a $1500 lesson - it's the combination of image/position/starting cards/reads that wins you money and all of these are critical and, most of the time, under your control..

OK so the total for the week was $1 but that is a lot better than -$300 and the bonuses meant I was still up $871 in real money for the week at about $50/hr and had won a $200 seat in the Paradise $500k guaranteed next Saturday.

I have just signed up for Doyle's Room via Ice's BTP code and will play there next week - my tag is BTPexcess if you want to sweat me (no Seb not you thanx)

Much more importantly my 5 month old is in hospital with his Mom at the moment having a wheezy chest and temperature checked out so I'm just house-sitting with the 2 yr old in bed and fretting at the moment. No more poker tonight - wouldn't want to jeopardise 17/18 winning weeks now with a $2 loss would I ? :)

Rhys's fever broke last night :)

Spent most of it up with him waiting for his temp to RISE to normal ! but he's fine now.

My sleep has been 4,4,2 hrs last 3 nights so I'm off work today catching up on some.

My Vp$iP varies dependent on my moods and opponents. Anywhere in 20-30% is my normal range. More aggro tables with a not great run of card can be 15%. Where I'm the table boss and folks are autofolding to my PFRs/CB's unless they have hit it can even creep into the low 30's.

Keeping very strictly to my starting hand chart it's around 22% I think.

Too tired and busy to play much poker yesterday. Played for an hour at Doyles Room $100 NL 6 max (3 tables) just to unwind. Had forgotten what crazy all in donks they are. Lost a lot against a total muppet/CS who called my 5xBB raise OOP with 42s and hit trip 2's on 822 flop ('nh sir') when I hit TPTK but worked back and ended up -$4 or so (accrued 2400 action points worth about $25 in bonus mnaking maybe $20 profit for the hour).

As I was blowing off steam and mixing it up Vi$iP was about 30%.

If I get some sleep I will see if I can play the $200's and should finish off the $135 bonus is a couple of hours.

After that I'm not sure. Paddy Power still isn't taking neteller. I could deposit via my debit card to Paddy Power, find another B2B or Tribeca to sign up to or just play another current site until the end of the month.

May is 'Code Poker' month for a lot of us at BTP - catch me there on the $100 and $200 6 max under my secret disguise name of 'Excession' :D

I get either 35% RB or 50% of my winnings +10% RB - whichever is higher. Need minimum 1500 hands to qualify and if I want to get max $1000 winnings bonus need 4500.

So it should be interesting - lot of pressure to make that 2k winning total for the month (I'd expect that would generate about $1200 in bonus incl. 10%RB). Prima isn't a network I've played a lot on in the past...

I've been at Code Poker for a few days now, datamining in preparation for the new month.

100NL FR is too tight for my tastes UK evening time - avg table VPIP% is low twenties. Most of the players are US, so I guess I'm getting the more serious daytime players. Seems to loosen up a bit later on (when the casual players get home from college/work?), though too late for me to take advantage of it.

Maybe 6 max will be different, though.

Maybe 6 max will be different, though.

6 max always is - the bonus whores, Miller short-stackers and bots that infest FR don't exist there - it's where the 'AKSHUN PLAYAS' are :) :?

For example 9am UK time we have 6 6max $200 tables up with players seeing flop ranging from 82% :!: down to 51% - I'd be happy to play at any of those.
You will note there is only 1 FR table going.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

not a lot to report - last week I went on tilt at Doyle's Room and blew $480 to collect my $135 bonus - there was a guy to my immediate right who had Vp$ip of 86%! - I just couldn't get any money off him , overadjusted, overplayed and tilted off $400

lesson learned...

I redeemed myself on Saturday by cashing for $680 or so in the Paradise $500k guaranteed $200 rebuy MTT - I won my seat for $20 - 1500 entrants and I didn't do any rebuying or adding-on and made 82nd. I played well until the bubble where my inexperience showed a bit I think. I was comfortable at 40k or so when I lost half my stack with a button steal that ran into a BB who hit a set of tens; and then, being 1/3 avergae stacked and needing to make a move called a UTG min-raiser from the BB with AJo, hit TPTK and busted out to his AA. I do like the slower MTT's (30 minutes blinds were great) but they just take so long - I think it's unlikely I'll ba able to play many at all to be honest.

Nevermind, ended up a couple of hundred up that week so it was OK.

End of the month my 650 euro wasa poker bonus came in. :D :D :D

This week I am starting another 650 euro bonus at Top ranked Poker (the thing clears at about $30/hr 3-4 tabling the e100/e200 tables) I am +$400 (including about $50 in accrued VIP bonus) after less than 2 hours play. Played 4 MTT's last night (all $15-20). Busted out of 3 early and was looking good in the Stars $5 rebuy - top 1/3 with 1200 left - ($35k in prize money) before I realised just how late it was (1am) and then donk called an AK push to my BB re-raise wtih AQ. Stupid play but I just had to go to bed - I hadn't realised it was 15 minute blinds..

So about $300 up this week and looking forward to another month at B2B. Codepoker may have to wait until I've exhausted the 5x B2B bonuses.

I have a current roll of over $10k and lifetime winnings now comfortably over $15k.

Feeling very down this week as I got back to work after the holiday weekend to find that a workmate's 16 month old grandson (his only grandchild) had died of some viral illness. With 2 kids under two that hits you pretty hard. IAlmost impossible to think about the pain. Work is of course a miserable place at the moment.

Going home to give the kids a cuddle now..

Well I've been playing a fair bit at Top Rank but have kept getting stacked by dreadful 70/30 type players there - I overcompensate against them and let them tilt me if they get lucky - I have had 4 bad losing sessions all to maniacs in the past couple of weeks.

Fortunately I picked up e430 share of a bad beat jackpot when one str8 flush beat another at my table and have been steadily earning bonus points (2100 done of 3000 now), so (with the accrued bonus added) I'm still about $200 to the good there, but it has been painful.

Happily I switched to Stars $200 6 max yesterday to clear some accrued bonuses I have left there (they are clearing at double speed thanx to the 5 billion hand celebrations this week) and have added $700 to the roll in about 4 hrs play.

I have been using PO2 at Stars and can recommend it - better than I remembered it from before and especially handy for Stars.

So all in all my roll is on the up and things are fine - just had trouble adjusting to donks in the past week or two.

Have also signed up at B2B bestpoker for another e650 bonus so that I will do once TRP and Stars are cleared
