I'm not real keen on calling a bet on the flop with a small pocket pair that has not improved - there are two overcards (that are broadway no less), and the only card you can be happy about on the turn or river is another 5. If the board pairs you can't be too happy - and I still don't consider it likely that you'll take this hand down unimproved.

I guess, you got lucky in this case - but I wouldn't advise keeping this hand in the future to a bet on the flop.

Also, I not a big fan of cold calling 2 bets preflop with 55 when you are the first to act after the raiser (edit: didn't see the caller in between but I would likely still fold unless i got 2 callers). If you are calling 2 bets, you want a lot of people, which you ended up getting, but you don't know that. I probably would have folded preflop unless I was in a later position and saw a couple callers. If I do play, its a set, open ended 4 card straight or fold with 55. You will only win about 1 out of 100 pots that are 4 handed on the river with 3 broadway cards and 4 overs to your pocker pair.

If you've played with UTG+1 long enough to know that he's raising this sort of trash, and you can get the rest of the table to fold with a 3-bet, then consider doing that and trying to take it down on the flop. MP1's presence may negate this strategy though.

3 betting isn't bad if you think you can isolate and get everyone to fold, plus the preflop raiser to fold if he misses the flop and turn. Likely, if he's raising with this type of junk, he's in until at least the turn, despite your 3 bet, and will call down with any pair or even ace high. This might sound good, but most pair will be your pocket pair and if he's there til the river, you have to dodge all 5 cards to hold up. With the other guy calling in between, its hard to make this type of play.
