I don't intend to post details of every session, but these two hands were just too donktastic not to share:

Hand 1

The turn call was tricky for me. I figured the 2 counterfeited his low, so I was good for the low with a draw to the high. If villain had something like A23, then I figured my high was good and/or I had outs. When the river came, I knew I was going to show down. I feel like a little bit of a pussah for not putting him all in. I wasn't paying enough attention, and that cost me a few BBs (geez, I'm a greedy fvck).

Anyway, dude went into bearhunt mode and tried to trap me on the two tables I was playing. I dodged him every time and almost got a big chunk of another one of his stacks when I had a big straight flush wrap that somehow whiffed.

Party Poker
Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
8 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $158.15
UTG+1: $97.50
MP1: $88.15
MP2: $143.60
CO: $96.60
Button: $97.30
SB: $99.30
Hero: $167.41

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with [4s] [As] [8c] [Kd]
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $3.5, 5 folds, Hero calls $2.5 (pot was $5).

Flop: [6s] [Qs] [8d] ($7.5, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $6, Hero calls $6 (pot was $13.5).

Turn: [2h] ($19.5, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $18.55, Hero calls $18.55 (pot was $38.05).

River: [Kc] ($56.6, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $53.8, Hero calls $53.8 (pot was $110.4).

Results:
Final pot: $164.2
UTG+1 shows 8h 7h 2c Ah
Hero shows 4s As 8c Kd

Hand 2

This hand is just unreal to me. The funny thing is that SB said before he called the river bet "my set no good?" I figured I was good for the low half, so I wanted to make an inviting bet on the river. I was shocked to find that I invited all the chips into my stack.

CO had pfr of about 1.5%, so I was pretty sure that this was AAxx... that made for an easy pf call.

I wonder about my turn play. I wanted to get more money in the pot, but I assumed one of these jackballs had a better flush. As such, I didn't really want to get the pot HU. Any idea how to play the turn better? A min-raise?

Session Notes

69 hands
1.4 table hours
.7 real hours
+$103 (would have been even sweeter if that str8 flush draw had hit)

Sadly one table broke up and the other one was kind of meh, so I decided to stop the session and go to the gym. I've marked the bear hunter, so I'll be looking for him again.

fun fun fun

i was just checking out the bear hunter. he's a decent winning player at the 200s and 400s, so i sense a good rivalry brewing.

Hand 1 I would seriously consider pushing on the turn there. That 2 could really have gutted his low and surely makes your A4 very likely to be taking half the pot. If he has something like AA2 he'll find it very difficult to call there, even though his high is good. If you get called you've clearly got plenty of high equity with your flush draw and middle pair (as two pair may still win high). Obviously your two pair on the river makes pushing probably a reasonable move.

Hand 2 your flop call was maybe a bit loose but with position I guess it's one i'd make with the attitude "I hope the other guy folds and I can outplay this guy with position". One of the issues is that you seem unlikely to have both ends won, and there's likely to be limited fold equity against most donk-ish oppos here, so opportunities to make him make a "bad fold" may be limited.

I figure I'd probably raise on the turn as it seems you have low wrapped up. I'm torn between making a small raise to keep two possible flushes/a flush and a weaker low in, and just shoving in the max.

Nice night last night, 400 hands on 2 tables - up $245.

Numbers so far (since 3/14 - all at PL $100 level)

5216 hands
vpip 21.74
vp from sb - 36.94
won $ wsf - 30.16
amt won $1208
bb/100 hands 11.59
went to sd - 23.28%
won$@sd - 56.27%
pf raise 2.72%
hilo won hi - 9.03
hilo won lo - 1.59
hilo scoop - 7.67
pf aggr - .13
flop aggr 1.81
turn aggr 2.64
riv aggr 2.05
tot aggr fact .60
total rake - $504.90 (jeezus!)

in my hand categories, AA2x is a loser (had 21 times, down $50), my went to sd is not very high for it (31.8%), but my won @sd is only 33%. I'm guessing a lot of those are all ins on/before the flop, and there was one stack lost when my aces full ran into quads, so no biggie.

My position stats are probably about normal. Highest vpip is the button at 25%. Lowest is UTG. Down 0.05 and 0.07 bb/hand from sb and bb respectively.

Anything I should be aware of here? I've hit the $200 games a leetle bit (600 hands - up $60), but not a whole lot, the $100s are too juicy to switch right now.

Milestone Update - 100s

I crossed the "$400 won" line at the 100s today. Stats:

Hands: 1000 (I didn't plan this)
Amount won: $424.32
ptbb/100: 21.22
VPIP: 26.5
Rake: $96.80
Table hours: 20 (actually 19.6 or so)

Overall, I was really happy with my play. I made a handful of overplays (four that I recall) with mixed results (lost two and won two). Anyway, I learned from them.

My first 500 hands were REALLY slow. I can't tell if I was just card dead or whether the tables were dead. Interestingly, I felt quite flop dead (or got little action when I hit) on the last 500, but I got paid off with stacks a few times, and that was enough. I got some FANTASTIC pf hands when one or more loose players were getting aggro, but the flops just completely whiffed and made my hands pretty useless (usual stuff, so not worth mentioning the specifics).

I'll move up to the 200s now. I'll move back down to the 100s if I lose two buy-ins, and I'll move up to the 400s if/when I hit $800 won at the 200s. I'll still play some 100s and 50s "on the side", but that won't be part of the project stats.

Has anyone else noticed that the 50s are really juiced these days? There have been a few times that I thought about sitting at the 50s rather than the 100s due to the fact that some of the 50s had HIGHER POT AVERAGES than the 100s. Bah... sometimes I hate my time zone.

I'm "ahead" of schedule by 20 table hours and 1000 hands. This is definitely due to the higher winrate than planned. We'll see if this pace keeps up. It looks like my estimate of 50 hands per table hour was just about right.

New stats will be on the action at the 200s only.
