This wasn't a big week, but i actually put in a lot more hours than I thought.. my hourly rate should in all actuality (is that a word?) be higher, because i put in a LOT of hours playing 1-2 tables just messing around..all-in-all, another happy week

Yeah...I was thrown by the name change too. Been away for a week and wondered if he dropped off the map from having a bad run...hmm. I'd have stuck with Godlike It's an image thing...you're now messing with the chi and have to keep equating roy = Godlike now Don't make our small brains work so much.

The thing is I still AM godlike, but my presence is enough to invoke this knowledge into strangers so much so that I don't actually need to be referred to by that name anymore

Just played the only poker i've played for a couple of days, im trying to finish off this EuroPoker bonus asap so I can get some money into party for their 2nd deposit bonus..

Ended the session slightly down as I was mostly card-dead for the whole session, i felt I played good for the few hands i was involved in, though. I was also playing on the BTP private table at Prima with Runner Runner, it was a bit insane considering we ended up paying about $23 in rake for the hour or so that we played, but it was a good match and it's been so long since i've played someone who knows what they're doing at a poker table.. I ended up winning $70 from him, take away the rake though and it's about $47. Mostly from two hands - One i had TT vs AQ and he raised preflop, i pushed and he called (he had about $20) -- i'd been pushing allin a LOT and he folded to most of them, i suppose i was trying out the prahlad type strategy posted in the nl forum, pushing with draws or pair+gutshot, a couple of times i pushed with a fullhouse and once with 2 pair - that brings us to the other big pot I won off him which went something like this..

I get 29o OTB and RR raised to $2 or so, i call (he's been raising a lot) - Flop comes down and he bets $2, i call. Turn is the and he bets $5, i puuuuuush and he thinks till the timer almost runs out then calls, he had and the river brought no help so he must've put me on a flush/straight draw i imagine.. Either way, it was a good match RR and the results don't give justice to your play - a few times you caught me with my hand in the jar and i felt you bluffed me off more pots than I should've allowed.. good game

Heh, thanks Godlike. I probably played too loose, raised too much, and qutie frankly called too much.

Heads up is tough though - something I don't get much practice at, playing full ring and all.

It's bee a humbling day, actually - won about $4 this afternoon in our earlier game which featured Excession, Trump, SmokinAl, Northview, and myself. Was up over $25 at one point - but started to get carried away and ended up losing a few key hands - I think Northview and Al caught me more than once.

Well I've realized that I have a lot more to learn about this game of ours than I thought - I still consider myself an overall pretty good low level player with the brains, commitment, and potential to some day be playing in the bigger games, but I think it's going to take longer than I had thought. I've been thinking about slowing my ascent up the level ladder - even if I can play $100 and maybe even $200 at +EV, once I hit $50 NL, I think I'm going to freeze my journey there for a considerable amount of time - I'd like to one-table for awhile and really get some practice in at reading people and trying to put people on hands. I'd also like to actually make some withdrawls and enjoy some of the fruits of my labor so far as well.

I wish I had more time to put into this, but I work 45-50 hours a week and try to keep some sembliance of a social life too, but I sitll plan to learn, study, and grow.

Haha no it's alright One thing you said stuck out though - you said you wanted to one-table for a while and really get some practice at reading people etc, might I suggest moving to 6max at the same time? I've played a bit of 6max in my time but mostly from what I hear from others, it's where "real" poker starts to begin, playing more hands, being more aggressive, and more postflop play..

Also from everything I know about your play I have no doubt you'll be able to beat the 100 and 200 games, especially since you're so set on learning and growing as a player. Your bankroll management skills are also impecable and that's probably one of the biggest areas where a lot of poker plays fall short in - so kudos to you again on that

Just played a decent session, one nice big hand where i stacked QQ with my set of 8s and one bad hand where i got allin preflop with AA vs JJ and xx (some shortstack) and he spiked a jack, only a halfish stack tho..
