LOL I usually play $200 (and am dipping my toe in the $400 waters when I find a juicy table). It's just that the best tables to play at B2B last night were $100 and, as I always buy in 50% stacked, that meant $50 buy-in...

But could you briefly explain the plus points of your half buy-in strategy? I hear you mention it a lot, but I would love to know, in just a few bullet points, why it is so successful for you.

I tried it once or twice myself, but I only play at the $20NL level. So the thought of missing out on another $10 dollars when you try to stack the donks at the table is too tempting, and I always end up re-buying in full the full $20.

1. You can get all-in comfortably in 6 max with TPTK and come out +EV
2. More folks call your pushes (and I like to push with monsters on flush draw flops) - so you don't lose that much EV as against having a full stack as you get your big hands called more often.
3. It makes me hard to bluff off substantial pots (but donks don't notice my stack and still try the bluffs anywway).
4. I make a lot of marginal calls - this way when I get it badly wrong I only lose half a buy in.

But all the above is just self-justification really - the real reason is I switched to 50% buy-in when I got into 6 max whilst I found my feet and now it's just part of my comfort zone..
