Keep Them?

Postby StarliteCoast » Fri May 05, 2006 10:51 am

I am currently playing .50/$1 limit on Stars. I keep a database of each individual level I play and a database that has them all together as well. My question is, is it necessary to keep the hands from my play at .05/.10 and .10.20?

As I am playing .50/$1 it seems that the hands I played in .10/.20 and .05/.10 do not really tell me much any longer or do the stakes played mean less and the results of the individual hands and their success or failure the important factor and therfor I should keep them all?

To anyone out there that plays $2/$4 or $3/$6 or higher and also uses PT, do you keep your old nickel and dime hands you have logged. At what point, if ever, do you decided that the hands you played at the lower levels, do not really give you an accurate representation of the success or failures certain hands could produce or not produce. For example, A-10o could prove to be an excellent hand from any position at .05/.10 and .10/.20 but start showing itself to be a loser at the $1/$2 or $2/$4 levels because of the assumed smarter play at higher levels. In this example the hand may show a profit overall, but is in fact a loser at the higher levels.

Thanks.

i keep ALL of my old hands. i do make new DBs, but those old hands can be an education gold mine. furthermore, they can be useful if you play a range of levels.

I only started at .50/1 but I can say that I still have my old database (its nice to look at and think, damn only 14 months and now I'm playing 10 times those stakes) but also shows you if you've progressed at all. But I start a new one every few months. This is to keep things up to speed like Derk said and also because players do change, albeit not many of them. Also, A10o should easily show a profit at all levels.
