Royal Vegas .50/1.00 NL AA hand

I havent played with these smaller blinds in a while, so I'm curious as to what you guys think of my play here.

My stack: $200
His stack: $138

My opponent is a decent player. Fairly new to the table but has won a couple of hands. His has played fairly tight and ABC.

Opponent limps in front of me from 5th seat. I raise to $5 with [As][Ah]. Folded to the BB who calls. My opponent calls as well.

FLOP: pot $16.50
[Tc][6c][Jd]

Checked to me I bet $12 into the $16.50 pot (Why didn't I bet $15 here like usual? odd.) BB folds. Limper opponent thinks a bit and check raises it to $24. uhoh. He could have a flush draw, AJ, KJ, A10, trips, KK, QJ. I have no idea.

I decide to make a reraise to $60 here. My thinking is if he calls this huge bet or reraises, then he must have trips/ top two pair or something else beating me. What do you guys think about this bet? This is the main point of the post.

Anyway, he calls without too much thought. I'm sure I must be dead and go into check/fold mode.

TURN: pot$136.50
[Tc][6c][Jd] [Ad]

woohoo!!!! yay!!! finally luck goes my way!!! I think I started singing when this card came out. I was going to bet something like $60 here...but he only had $73 left so I just moved-all my chips in to try and look weak. I put him on trips and figured his fold to be nearly impossible.

River was of no consequence. He showed [6s][6d] for trip 6's on the flop.

How was my play? Is there another play I can make here that can help me figure out what he has, while risking fewer chips? Any input appreiecated.

BTW, this hand seemed to turn my week around. Went up $450 in about 3 hours on RV...huge change of pace from Party/Empire. For the first time in 2 weeks I feel like I'm unstoppable again.

With stacks of that size (pretty big) and without the [Ac], I think I would fold. I say "think" because its very hard to do when you are in the heat of the battle.

I think he either has 66, TT, JJ, JT, QQ, or AJ. QQ is less of a possibility than the other hands because a certain % of people reraise preflop with QQ. Also, Alot of people would just call with AJ out of fear that you have an overpair.

Theres too good a chance that youre going to be sucked into the hand too deeply and double him up. A fold looks weak to a lot of players, but its the right play most of the time (unless you have a read that says otherwise).

At Party, Im all in when he raises. Other places with deeper stacks (in this case he has more than a full stack), I think youre better off folding.

I'm not sure I have the "balls" to fold aces down there. I hadn't even considered the possibilty of folding in this spot. Perhaps kenny is overvaluing his aces...or perhaps I've been playing too long on Party. lol.

When I was first reading your post I liked your strong re-raise and I can agree when you say you think you are beat when you are called.

I've really thought about Iceman's post and I don't know if I could fold the Aces either. You've been check raised the min. The check raise is dangerous, I recognize that. How much is the check raise? Check raising the minimum here is dangerous. If you have notes on him and what he min raises then you can go off those but otherwise it looks like he might be trying to milk you, which he was.

I probably wouldn't have made the laydown either, but this will definitely be something to keep in mind as I play.

Nice post.

By the way, if you fold there, dont EVER tell anyone you folded AA.
