I think there is a category between nutpeddler and LAG (if not more than one), which should probably be called TAG. I don't want to go into definitions, but I think a nutpeddler bets his MADE HANDS, and is passive with draws, even if they're powerful. A LAG bets all his draws, big or not. A good TAG will be aggressive when his hand has strength, whether it is a made hand or a big draw. Most winning players at the lower levels probably fall into this category; they try to get the money in when they are a mathematical favourite.
Maybe a classification of players should go according to various parameters, like
tight-loose (preflop)
tight-loose (postflop)
aggressive-passive
plays own cards - plays opponents cards
bluffs - does not bluff
floats - does not float
plays odds - does not know odds
bluffable - unbluffable
etc.
