If you're gonna check the turn then you should def. go ahead and check that river. That $4 bet you put out is either going to be folded to or raised. I think you're better off checking the river then calling his value bet. In that scenario...you very well could incduce a bluff.

I agree. Decide if he has the flush or not. If he doesn't have it, bet the turn strong. (I bet about 2/3 pot on the turn every time, myself.) If he does have it, check the turn and the river. Especially with the craptacular river card. Too many straights out there now. Ugly.

could have been a BB special.....guy could have slowplayed 34, flopped the str8, or he could have been on a flush draw....unraised preflop, i think you made the right move being conservative....he would have called the 4 w/ A-rag....it also could have been a bluff....

i wouldn't have shot out with 4....would have checked and seen the cost to call....
