$200 PLO on UB. To my immediate left is a very aggressive player (no, can't change seats). He raises the max pf every hand and pots every flop. When I came in he had 4 buyins, and he is earning more of them at a rate of about one per orbit. Every now and then he gets caught on a bluff, but in most of the big pots he shows down big hands.

First hand: I get AKQJ in MP, limp, and call his raise with two others. Flop comes KT4r. LAG pots, others fold, I checkraise max? Villain calls with top pair, which easily holds up.

Second hand: I get AAKKss in LP and limp. Villain pots, I repot to about $120. Flop is JQK with two of my suit, so I push in the rest, but villains 9T holds up again.

So, within 10 mins I twice committed the cardinal sin of dumping a stack to an overaggressive player, who left shortly after. I know both hands were in theory not a mathematical disaster, but in situations like these it's more of a matter of principle not to donate, right?
So, how do we beat this opponent in practice, and not just in theory?

First, to Monk: I like the way hand 2 was played. I definitely play it exactly the same way if I re-raise and am also pushing hard on the flop if I flat call (there might actually be some fold equity in that case, but you're right about flush draw with top set being big fav--16 outs on turn and 19 or 18 on river, and if you hit any of them, he's drawing dead).

OJ: I think this "in the time allotted" thing is very different than in chess. While THIS particular maniac may leave, you just have to make +EV plays. There's nothing better. In both hands, you played right and that simply is +EV. If it didn't work against this particular maniac, it will against the next one, so to speak.
