I'm in the SB deep stacked at $85. I have owned the table, dictating a lot of the tempo. I had $115 until about 10 hands ago when I got all in against a shortish stack with my KK vs his AA. There is one player I respect at the table -- he becomes villain. He's got $90 in the BB. He's a 16%/5% guy who's not messed around a lot.

I hold [7s] in the SB, it's limped 3 times to me and I complete. BB Checks.

The flop is [Td][8s]. Pot is $2.50 and I act first. I bet $2. Because I've bet at every pot, this is a good move for me. I'll get action from any 9, any J, and a bunch of different draws. I expect I could even get a reraise. I don't have to wait for the reraise...BB makes it $10

This is a solid player. He's not on a draw. He has a hand and thinks it's good, but knows I'd bet the draw. He almost surely overbet to make the straight draw look bad to the 3 players left to act. This was my read at the moment...my read changes in a minute...but right now I think he's got at least AJ, but probably top 2. So I raise to $30, not really sure how he'll react. He thinks, and he pushes. It's about $47 for me to call.

Anyone lay this down?

at 50nl. I can't hit the call button with my mouse quick enough. If he has Q 9, I'm not even upset because I'll still win $300 to $400 the next 10 times I make that call.

I've seen SO MANY of these. The blinds so totally have that straight when they play like that. Last time I was in a similar situation 5 limpers, 2.5 pot, the blind bet pot, I raised 5 to 10, he went all in. I folded my set quickly, he showed me the 2nd straight.

Y... I've prolly played close to 50k hands at NL50, and for every time I've seen someone ONLY doing this with the stone cold nuts, I've seen 100 times when someone did this with as little as AT or KQ...

If you're talking about calling his push with AJ, I think it's debatable... But in a blind battle holding the 2nd nuts, its ludicrous to even CONSIDER mucking here...

I've seen players with good numbers do stuff like this with two pair or a set. If I was the BB and I had two pair I might lay it down depending on the size of the bet, the opponent, and number of players on the flop, but with a set I will push most of the time after the SB reraises me because people are likely to overplay two pair or TPTK.
