$200NL 6max Prima.

I have a full stack and so does villain who is a 25/6 TAG. Decent player. He'll raise in position, makes CBs, can fold, etc. He has position on me and has taken some pots away from me with good plays. I want to make a stand.

I limp/call a x4BB bet with 5[h] 5[d] in MP. Villain raised in CO.

Flop A[h] 9[h] 8[s]. I check, he bets $9 which is nearly full pot, and I'm very certain he has a AK type hand.

I pause and then call with the intention of check raising huge on any T, 7, 5, or heart. 20 pseudo outs.

Thoughts...

They never- never-never fold aces, even with a weak kicker, even against a preflop raiser.
Even if a heart comes on the turn he could have , and will call you anyway. <it is painful, but it is impossible to outplay an average player without cards in my stackes (100NL) one just need to have cards for that.

If he has an A he willl call your AI no matter what.

I maybe would have check-raised on the flop there. It is possible that he doesn't have an ace. If he calls your check-raise, you can be sure that he does have an ace. If he doesn't have one, you have a good chance at winning the pot right there. Then you can bluff at the pot on the turn depending on what it is. If you do lead out on the turn with a 3/4 to full pot, it would take a good player a lot of guts to call with anything other than AA.

Limp/call PF, then check-raise on flop looks a lot like a set.
