It sucks when you raise and they fold. But it sucks more when you call and give someone odds to chase and they catch something to beat you and take your stack.

I think the raise is a good play there, although at least half the time I probably do flat call.

I agree with k3nt. Against 1 player I just call, more than that I'll raise as usually someone else will come for the ride. I like the size of your raise as well, about 2.5x, small enough to let them fish, bad luck they both folded

It's worth noting there are 2 straight draw possibilities on this board so any A,9,6,4 so potentially lots of scare cards on the turn

The only way you'd fear a straight draw is if someone called a PFR with 43 or 76. Not terribly likely.

True. Even if I knew villain was capable of playing 43 or 76, I still wouldn't fear it. Just thought it was worth pointing out for the benefit of the OP thats all.
