Anybody with freeroll experience want to help me out. How do you play them, and how do you play differently than regular tournies?

My theory is that you either want to double up or quit early on. If you're out you didn't waste much time and no money, and if you're in you are at least going to survive a while (unless you're dumb).

What about after that, though? Which hands are worth playing, and at what blind levels?

Last night's freeroll was a quick one for me. Hands #1 through #4 I fold with total crap. #5 I think about playing but it's raised and re-raised by the time it gets to me so I fold my T9s in the BB. Too bad I did, too -- the flop came with a T and a 9, both players were all-in, and AA beat 77. Would have tripled up.

I'm thinking that, very early in a freeroll, it might be worth calling a medium type preflop raise, if it's been called before you, with pretty much any two cards that are working together in any way. If you happen to hit two pair or trips or a straight or a flush you can triple up by pushing (you'll get called!). Most of the time you won't hit, but you can just fold and try again next time you see aggression ahead of you.

Or is this just incredibly stupid?

Anyway, the very next hand two people are all-in before me so I call trying to triple up with AQ, but they have AK and JJ and I don't get lucky. Ah well, it cost me nothing, I can try again tonight.
