Finished down $0.80 tonight, again! This is getting fucking ridiclious. Win a stack with a nice set only to totally fuck it away by trying to hit sets. KK loses again, as usual. CB's get raised, pots get taken away from me. When will it ever stop? I'm beginning to think people are cheating. Seriously. This is totally unacceptable and needs to stop NOW. I get the fucking message - I suck. Now stop the fucking losing already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished down $8.50 tonight, once again! I can't stop losing, no matter what I do. Why is that selective aggression gets rewarded with constant re-raises and lost pots? Does anyone give a fuck that I'm representing a hand??? Why can't I hit a god dam hand? Douche bag opponents don't deserve shit. If I felt I got my fair share, then fine, let them win once in awhile, but seriously, this is beyond belief. I don't even care about my stupid bonus anymore - it's getting cleared but being pissed away along with my hard worked for money...

Poker winnings: ($11.30) - I'm thinking about chaning this to "poker losses" as default
Bonus cleared: $2.80
Total profit (loss) for day: ($8.50) - the word profit is comical

Bankroll as of 5/23/06: $658.97

Countdown to $50 NL: $341.03
Countdown to $10 NL: $158.97 -- I might just replace my $50 NL countdown with this.

I hear ya Runner, I am on a downswing myself at the 10NL level....down six buy-ins (60 bucks). Set over set, full house lost to quads, AA busted by 2 6 soooooted when we both are all in before the flop....just hang in there. Playing your game got to your level, if you keep hanging in there the wins will come. I switched sites myself...over to Poker Stars from Party, maybe that will change my fortunes. Good luck, I know you will succeed and soon you will look back on this and chuckle, knowing it is only a bump on the road to your success!

First off, thank you everyone for your support. I know we all go though these types of downswings sometimes for weeks on end as such is the case here, your words mean alot because I know you all know how it feels.

Finished up $1.41 tonight. Only played for a very short time, but it's wierd to see the ledger on the plus side...been awhile. Actually, finished down a nickel from poker winnings, but compared to the last week or so, I can't complain. Didn't do anything dumb tonight. I think I tightened up a bit post-flop tonight and didn't pursue hands when my opponents showed aggression. I'm realzing that making aggro moves to make people fold has been very -EV for me at $25 NL. I think my game plan is going to be to play loose enough (20% VPIP or so, not more than 25) preflop so I can get paid when I do get good cards, but not to pursue anything beyond the flop if I can't take it right there without a strong holding. I was also more liberal about raising in LP tonight, and albeit a very very small sample, it seemed to work out well.

I think sometimes I kid myself and try to apply the advice I see posted here for $200 and $400+ hands to my $25 NL opponents, who just aren't sophiscated enough to understand what it is we're (I'm) trying to represent. I don't even think the winning players at my level are playing that caliber of poker either - I should make a post-it on my monitor that says "$25 NL = ABC -- no moves".

Tables played: 2 full ring
Hands played: 140
Time played: 93 table minutes

Poker winnings: ($0.05)
Bonus cleared: $1.46
Total profit (loss) for day: $1.41

Bankroll as of 5/24/06: $660.38

Countdown to $50 NL: $339.62
(Decided to get rid of the $10 countdown - this was just self-defeating and didn't really mean anything)

THURSDAY, MAY 25, 2006

Finished down $3.84 tonight. That's more like it. That's what I'm used to - lose what I won the previous session and just a little more to rub it in. I don't even know if I'm a winning player at $25 NL - it's been almost 11K hands since PT and I'm showing a "win" rate of (1.72) PTBB/100. Solid. How I'm still rated an eagle is beyond me. I thought TAA's were supposed to be winning players. Beyond me how no matter how long or short my session is, I manage to come out down. It seems that whatever's neccessary to ensure a losing session happens - either a whiffed CB, missed PP's, reraise PF...you name it, it gets done, I lose money, end of story. $50 NL seems like such a joke right now.

FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2006

Finished up $51.99 tonight. Finally, a nice session! That aside, I'm not going to get too excited over tonight's performance and assume that the rut is over and it's smooth sailing from here. These last few weeks have been trying for me to say the least and I've learned (well, am learning) that you can't throw yourself a parade every time you have a good session and run for the razors every time you have a bad session. Poker is the only endeavor that I can think of that you can play 100% perfectly and still lose for extended periods of time.

The fish were out en masse tonight - did Tribeca merge with UB?? I was literally handed a stack and a half by the same guy - he called off one stack with 55 on an AAx board - I had AJ (he was short, so it wasn't a whole stack, but the fact that he puts $0.01 in the pot post-flop vs. tight old me with aces showing facing my pot-sized bet really says something about his game. Second hand - won via a set, donkey pushed all-in wiht MPNK. Gotta love Friday nights.

Not taking any trips this weekend, hope to get a ton of poker in.

SATURDAY, MAY 27, 2006

Finished up $26.56 today. Played two sessions today - did very well earlier, but came out on the short end of the stick tonight - actually, I didn't much like my play tonight of a couple of key hands. I posted one, and the other involved QQ and a two tone board - I checked the turn and gave my opponent a free card (dreadful I know), which of course was the third suit to win. At least he didn't get paid off after that.

Other than that, despite a couple of sick suckouts, I still managed to book a win for the day.

Tables played: 3 full ring

SUNDAY, MAY 28, 2006

Finished up $10.85 today. Nothing overly exciting today, just another won some / lost some. Actually, finished down poker-wise today - once again saved by the bonus. Mostly due to suckouts. I can't count the number of ways aces can get cracked. I'm starting to cringe when I get them, wondering how they're going to lose this time. Or, everyone folds PF.

Tables played: 3 full ring

WEEK ENDING MAY 28, 2006

Well another proverbial March this week - in like a lion, out like a lamb (actually, more like a donkey, the donkeys were the big winners this weekend). But it does feel good to book another winning week.

I've been playing better over the last several days, and have actually suprised myself at how often I was folding the best hand on the river. I've won more of these questionable showdowns than not, so that's a real boost of confidence.

My PTBB/100 is sitll in the red by a bit, but it's increased greatly over the past few days. More than likely last weekend's disaster was more or less an abberation, I'm confident I'm actually a winning player. I'd like my winrate to be better, but it will increase over time. I'm not going to hesistate to move up to $50 NL when the bankroll is ready -- with time and money behind me, I'm comfortable that my game will continue to grow to the point that I'm readily beating the $50 game.

One more day off from work - one more day of sun/Red Sox/poker. Good times.

Happy summer everyone.

2&3 tables
7 days play (I missed my study night this week - will get back to it next week)

Net finish for week: $77.67
Bankroll as of 5/28/06: $745.94

Emoticon of the Week: :)
