Here's the problem: you don't bet the flop...everyone said that. But I know why you don't bet the flop...you don't want everyone to leave the hand...you want to maximize value against a weak hand.

So ask yourself...if he has AQ, how much will you make if he hits an ace or queen on the turn? Now multiply that times the odds of him hitting it...12% or so...it's not much.

In NL you make your money by winning a few big pots. That means betting your big hands and hoping someone else has something.

Aight....I got a question...why bet the pot on the flop? He's last to act and no one has shown any strength and he has middle set on a rainbow flop....let's say everyone completely missed...he won't get anything outta them....and I don't know...I don't see a turn card that will scare your set...why not let them catch up a little bit?

The reason you bet this flop is because hopefully the others at the table view you as an aggressive player, as you have been betting at most, if not all, flops that have been checked to you, especially in unraised pots, right? Make a weiner bet, if only to build a pot to make the subsequent turn and river bets big enough to pot-stuck your opponent.
