As much fun as it was to get to knock kenny out of the tourament (Thats what you get for talking about my Girl J/k) I questioned my play after this hand. Maybe I have played to maney cash games where I almost never want to call all-in with AK that it felt like a bad play to call in all- in here.

Kenny and I talked about this hand right after it happened. I came to the conclusion it was a bad call on your part for one reason. You knew that you were at best 50-50 to win that hand and if you lost it, you blew any chance you had of winning the tourney. I wouldn't risk basically my whole stack on a 50-50 call when you had as many chips as you did. It's not worth the risk even though it turned out ok. Contrats on your good play in the tourney. I disagree...I think AK 6 handed late in a tournment is very hard to fold. Because you won that coinflip you gave yourself the best chance to win 1st.

How can you think that. It was 50-50 at best and he knew it. Those aren't the odds you want to try and double up OR lose your stack on. AK is a good hand, but not for all your stack against a good player when you still have enough chips to do damage with. It doesn't make ANY sense. If he only had 1000 chips left it would've been a different story and the correct call at that time. The only time you should call an all in of a person who has around the same amount of money as you is if you know you are winning or you have no money left and have to take a chance to try and win. You know all of this but you forget that AK sucks. You were winning this hand 52% to 48% preflop. Would you bet 1 dollar in any other game knowing you were at odds to lose at the start of the game? Why is it any different here? Have a nice day

One other point here I forgot about.

He led out with a raise. Then you reraised all in. He had to know he was losing going into the hand. Anyone disagree with all of this. Have a nice day

The funny thing, is agree with Stapher here and think I made a bad call, my first instict was that Kenny was making a stand since I had been bullyiing the table around, which turned out to be right. What was very wrong about my play was that Kenny unlike me had been playing tight and he had to be pretty sure that I was going to call and thinking about this now I severely doubt he would have made this same play with AQ AJ or KQ. Like Stapher said I called almost all my chips with my best case scenario being a coin flip.

This is one of the reasons I have stopped playing tournaments on a consistant basis. The BTP tournaments are the only tournaments I have played in a couple of months. I feel like I played the same way in the first two BTP tournaments, the only reason I took second ths time was that I didnt get sucked out when I had the best hand, and I wont two coinflips with AK vs PP's. Lucky to not get unlucky I guess.

you are right...unless i am really low on chips (and i wasn't in this situation)... I would never make that play with AQ, KQ, or AJ.
