As some of you may have noticed, UB changed the structure of their SNG's. You now have regular and turbo SNG's, the latter having much faster blind increases.
I did reasonably well (ROI of about 30%) at the $10 SNG's before, but in the new structure (more chips in play), I find it much harder to place in the money. The SNG's last longer (in the old structure, it was rare that it took much more than 100 hands before it got heads up and not many SNGs last over 200 hands). Also, in the old structure it was very hard not to make the money if you doubled up early on, because you could just fold into it. Now a double up means that you will make it to final five, but then you still have a lot of work to do, and it seems harder to make the money without taking a coinflip at some point. Also, it seems that the average level of play is better, since all the wild gambling-types are now playing the turbo-versions.
Anyone who can give some ideas on how to adapt and how to avoid having to gamble with four or five left?
Thanks, Pieter
