After looking around for a bonus I decided to go for GC's $300 signup bonus.

At first I only had some change to play with, so I played the lower limits. Got out slightly on top after a few hours play. After a couple of days I got most of my money on GC. I started up 3 $0.5/1 tables. To maximize my bonus points. 3 points for each raked hand at this level.

I played a couple of hours and had my ass whopped. I lost closer to $200. I felt nothing worked. All my bluffs got called or even raised. And I'm talking bluff both at the flop and turn for a good amount. Then when I had something I bet out the same I either got folded or reraised an enourmous amount. I lost $100 on AA I couldn't lay down. I later laid down to a big reraise when I had a good hand and it turned out to be a bluff, despite the fact I had shown I wouldn't let me get bullied out of a hand earlier.

After these hands I of course didn't play my A-game. I left after 3tabling for a couple of hourse, winning only a couple of small hands. My poker self-esteem is at a definitive low point.

I expected weak passive players as advertised and got tight super aggressive opponents. My only comparison at this level is Crypto. And let me tell you, the skill level there is waaay lower. If you can beat GC, then crypto is stealing candy from a baby.

I don't know what to do. I'm actually afraid of playing again

They have been getting less and less passive at the .50/1.00 level. Though keep in mind....you really shouldn't be bluffing too often at that level. You will get called down by them, time and time again.

I recommend playing 3 or 4 tables like you were...playing a very tight VP$IP and betting aggressively when you hit.

Iv been playing the .25-.50 tables and have noticed that the game seems pretty aggresive the past week as well... the fish are still thgere but they've been fewer and farther between for me. Apparently they had a "how to play poker" seminar in europe last week and they took note

Maybe BTP players have infested every limit

I'm kind of a newbie around here... Is Gaming Club everyones favorite? I play on Ultimate, which isn't the best, but it's better for me than Party, where I would generally go from even to $300 up to $700 down in a day. I was on a first name basis with my local pawn broker... I'm sorry if I'm writing this somewhere where I shouldn't, but is GC a good place to play .5/1 and 1/2 NL?

Gaming Club for the most part has the most passive players anywhere. The NL games are much softer than PokerStars or UB by a long shot.

My win rate there is higher than any site Ive played and Ive played almost everywhere.

You have to play 0.25/0.50 or higher.

You can only get so many BRP (Bonus Redemption Points) per limit.

Limit/BRP per raked hand/max amount of BRP
$0.25/$0.50 1 300 (maximum of $20)
$0.50/$1.00 3 400 (maximum of $20, more if you combine it with higher play)
$1.00/$2.00 3 800
Higher 3 Limited only by maximum promotion value

So unless your playing at $1/2 or higher you won't get much of the bonus.

I generally play 1/2 or 2/4 if I feel real ballsy, which I don't lately... I'll give it a shot... I don't have the nerves for the swings of Party and I've been getting smoked lately on UB... how much do you have to deposit to get the $300?

I had a better day today. Played tighter, not so aggressive and almost no bluffing. Doubled up calling a bluff all the way to a river allin. Which I guess could have gone both ways. Anyways, good luck.

you only have to deposit $20 which obviously you'll be depositung more than that to play 1/2 or 2/4.

At the 1/2 level (limit or NL) you can get a max of $120 bonus.
You can then play 2/4 to receicve the remainder of the $300 total bonus.
