I raise to $8 beind an ep limper with JJ in emp myself and he calls after it's folded around.
Flop: 742 two tone. Pot ~ 16 I bet $12 (my standard here) and he checkraises to $39. There are 2 hearts there and I have the Jh but don't think that matters as I am not drawing to a flush.
Now in these spots it often seems that a minicheckraise is a set and a larger checkraise is a smaller overpair. Of course it could certainly be a set.
So I decided to call after some thought and re-evaluate on the turn. Some players loose their sack on the turn when called as I think they put me on an overpair and don't know if they are going to be called down so they can't really pull the trigger and lead for like 1/4 pot. Others can keep it up and put a real bet out, and of course I could most certainly be beat anyway.
So I dedided to call. Turn did not complete the flush. It might have been a queen and might have been a small blank, I forget. But I figured the card did not help him, I was ahead or beat on the flop.
Pot~ $94 and he leads for $50. I fold.
My main quesiton is do you auto fold to that checkraise without a read 100% of the time or sometimes call and reevaluate? I assume pushing is not standard but if you do that let me know please as well.
Second hand: Full stacks, no read
I have QQ in mp and open for $8. Blind calls.
Flop AAJ two tone. Pot ~16. I bet $12 and am called.
Turn does not help me and I check behind.
River does not help me and he leads for $20 into a $40 pot. Call or fold? Any doubts with your decision? Consider one option standard?
