I did a search for this as I'm sure it has been discussed but I couldn't find anything...
Does anyone have any general tips for what to do on the river when you have lead on the flop and turn with your draw but end up missing?
Against a dufus I'm hesistant to bet the river since they may just call with their bottom pair. On the other hand, these are the same people who call down with some crap draw and would fold to any river bet.
Example hand from today:
I'm dealt in the BB. 3 limpers.
Flop ($2.25) is . I lead out for $1.50. 2 callers.
Turn ($6.75) is . I bet $3. 1 call, the other folds.
River ($12.75) is . I check, he checks. He shows and wins.
I guess I could have bet more on the turn and possibly ended it there, but at that point I wasn't sure that my flush draw was any good.
Do you bet this river? How much? Or is it a check and surrender situation?
