I have been trying really hard ladies and gentleman. I'm mainly a ring game player trying to learn SNG strategy. My biggest leak that I can find so far is I'm too willing to put all my chips at risk when a smaller bet would have accomplished the same result.

I have lost a ton of SNG's at various levels, but I know when I f'd up. I seem to be getting drawn out on far more than I ever do on ring games. What gives!

Here's an example. I'm not trying to relate a bad beat story. I want to know why:

1. I seem to get drawn out on more at PokerStars than PartyPoker. Those are the only two sites I play.

PokerStars Game #5118011664: Tournament #25724033, $50+$5 Hold'em No Limit - Level II (15/30) - 2006/06/01 - 10:27:59 (ET)
Table '25724033 1' 9-max Seat #9 is the button
Seat 1: RapidVienna (1475 in chips)
Seat 2: salthart (730 in chips)
Seat 3: KaiserShosa (1910 in chips)
Seat 4: jake2585 (1050 in chips)
Seat 5: LLBilly (1515 in chips)
Seat 6: PSUDon (2545 in chips)
Seat 7: jullum (1450 in chips)
Seat 8: Detour (1275 in chips)
Seat 9: ironmo (1550 in chips)
RapidVienna: posts small blind 15
salthart: posts big blind 30
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Detour [Qd Qh]
KaiserShosa: raises 60 to 90
jake2585: folds
LLBilly: calls 90
PSUDon: folds
jullum: folds
Detour: raises 180 to 270
ironmo: folds
RapidVienna: folds
salthart: folds
KaiserShosa: calls 180
LLBilly: calls 180
*** FLOP *** [5c 4d 5d]
KaiserShosa: bets 360
LLBilly: folds
Detour: raises 645 to 1005 and is all-in
KaiserShosa: calls 645
*** TURN *** [5c 4d 5d] [Jd]
*** RIVER *** [5c 4d 5d Jd] [3d]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
KaiserShosa: shows [Jc Jh] (a full house, Jacks full of Fives)
Detour: shows [Qd Qh] (a flush, Queen high)
KaiserShosa collected 2865 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 2865 | Rake 0
Board [5c 4d 5d Jd 3d]
Seat 1: RapidVienna (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 2: salthart (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 3: KaiserShosa showed [Jc Jh] and won (2865) with a full house, Jacks full of Fives
Seat 4: jake2585 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: LLBilly folded on the Flop
Seat 6: PSUDon folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 7: jullum folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Advice please. Thank you.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Seriously, you are taking the feedback far too personally. There's no advice to give for this hand - you played it right, put your money in as the favorite, and got outdrawn. There's nothing to add to this thread. We all get outdrawn at times.

Think of it this way:

If every first-post bad-beat story was greeted with a sympathetic ear, every crybaby on the net would be here whining about how their QQ got busted by AK.

I think the thing is with tournaments is you tend to get all / most of the chips in preflop, so the hands go right down to the river, giving you more chance to get out-drawn.

I was feeling pretty cheesed off yesterday after I got bubbled several times after putting my money in 70/30 65/35/ ahead... it sucks when they suck out, but that is what happens because even with a hand like KQ vs AJ, you are never that far ahead.

QQ vs JJ for you is just unlucky, but remember in a cash game you are going to just bet them off the flop or turn a lot of the time, so they are not going to get as many cards to get lucky.

Also, in tournaments your whole result can come down to one big hand, which you only remember when you get unlucky, not when you suck out on someone yourself.

Keep putting the chips in ahead and be proud of yourself for being better players than them!
