Only got 20 hands on vilian, but definitely donkish. Been to showdown 4 of 8 and only won once. I didn't really understand his river bet, apart from backdooring diamonds, i'm having trouble working it out. Surely if he's got a hand he'd be raising my bet before the river on this board.

Hero folds. In my experience, í'm behind here more often than not, except when he's overly aggressive.

Huh? Didn't you check to induce a bluff? So its an easy call then. Why else would you check the river?

The river check-call is my favorite play in poker. I call because the flush hit, not in spite of it. The flush on the river looks scary and lots of player will bluff at it. The bet is big, which looks like it doesn't want a call.

I put villain on a busted club draw or a Ax. You beat most of those hands.

Call baby!!! And ship the big pot your way!

I am tempted to call this, clubs flush draw missed and he could be bluffing it. I suspect that set or two pair would raise flop or turn, BUT some donks like to slowplay to the river. Tough without reads and in FR. In 6 max with a bit of a read I call all day long.

Don't check on the end if you aren't happy to call that bet.

As it is, call, the club flush missed as did the straight draw, or looks quite likely here. and AJ are your only real worries.

Here was my thinking....He's not shown any aggression whatsoever until the river when he put me pretty much all-in (was about $8 short of that) and as such, by the end of the turn play, I put him on a draw.
I didn't value bet the river as I'd have to fold to a raise, and he'd have to fold a raggy A, missed draw (I was only worried about A8 and backdoor diamonds) so I checked hoping he would check it down, but be prepared to make a call if he bet.
The call was very uncomfortable for me to make, but went with my read.

I called and he showed for the busted gutshot and I took down $180
